The FEM is delighted to announce that we have arranged a unique opportunity for FEM members to visit the offices of The Daily Telegraph and to hear the inside story of the MP's expenses scandal from the journalists who broke the story. As relocation professionals we have more than a passing interest in how organisations manage the provision of accommodation, travel allowances and related expenses. We suspect many have strong views of how the MPs expenses scandal unfolded and would be fascinated to hear the inside story of what really went on. The "No Expenses Spared" meeting will be held on March 18 from 9.30 am at the offices of The Daily Telegraph (111 Buckingham Palace Road, London SW1W 0DT)
Our guest speaker will be Gordon Rayner, Chief Reporter of The Daily Telegraph and co-author of the best-selling book of the scandal, "No Expenses Spared". The Telegraph have kindly agreed to give all attendees a free copy of the book. This event is entirely free but numbers are limited to just 60 people. The Telegraph have asked us to limit this meeting as follows: * Maximum 2 attendees per organisation* In House HR Professionals* Service Provider Members who are confirmed exhibitors at the Totally Expat / Daily Telegraph Show in May. When Worlds Collide: The intersection of Global Mobility and Global Share Plans
As companies have a more mobile workforce, managing compliance for deferred compensation and equity incentives becomes more challenging. Adding to this challenge is the ever changing regulatory environment with countries continuing to develop their domestic legislation for mobile employees. This session will cover the recent legislative developments in the area of mobile employee equity taxation, some of the pitfalls, and helpful hints to avoid traps in which the unwary may get caught. This session will be conducted as a roundtable bringing together companies with different sized global mobility and share plan programs to discuss the challenges they face as well as how they have addressed and navigated these issues. The discussion will be lead by Monk Simons, Director in the Global Employer Services practice in the Dallas office of Deloitte Tax LLP. Monk has over 20 years of experience in global mobility.
