Consultation Meeting with the Migration Advisory Committee and the UK Border Agency
The Impact of New Non-EU Immigration Laws on Business and How Best to Implement Them.
4.30 pm, 2 September 2010
Presented by Stephen Earl and Vanna Aldin of the Migration Advisory Commitee and Ian Robinson of the UK Border Agency
The proposed government objective of reducing the number of non-EU migrants from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands will have a profound impact on the economy and business.
Consequently, we are delighted to announce that The FEM have been specifically requested by the MAC to organise a meeting for FEM members with senior representatives from both the MAC and UKBA to provide input into the continuing consultations on both the new limits and the mechanisms by which they should be realised.
The meeting will take the format of initial presentations by the MAC/UKBA, followed by faciliated discussion to be led by KPMG, Fragomen, Kingsley Napley, Smith Stone Walters, Global Visas, Taylor Wessing, Xchanging and Sarah Buttler Associates. There will then be the opportunity to give direct feedback to the MAC/UKBA.
Given the importance of this issue, the event will start ealier than normal (4.30 pm). This will allow maximum advantage of this rare opportunity and give attendees the chance to enjoy an informal wine and canapee reception following disucssions.
This meeting will be held at the central London headquarters of KPMG (Salisbury Square) and commences at 4.30 pm
